PROJECT DETAILS
St. Nicholas Hall is a 65,000 square foot building that has been renovated and repurposed to provide childcare from age 6 months to 6 years old within the Cotter School system.
Cotter Schools hired Schwab Construction to design and renovate the existing Tau Center building to provide a modern daycare and preschool facility as the starting point of the Cotter Schools program. Cotter wanted a facility that was modern but also kept as much of the original building as possible. The original limestone exterior was retained, and an unusual round chapel between the residential wings of the building was converted to an indoor physical activity area. Building accessibility and floor level changes were accomplished working within the overall design and feel of the original building.
